Out with the old in with the new

We have recently replaced four of our Tipper lorries and two of our RORO’s with brand new Volvo FMX 8x4’s and Scania P410 8x4’s. We try to keep the fleet as modern as possible so we can ensure the best service for our customers when we are on the road. It also keeps our drivers happy too!

EWD relieves Jaywick residents of waste!

A neglected property in Jaywick had been fly tipped with unimaginable amounts of waste, which a resident next door had to live with for a year. We went in with one of our Grab Lorries and cleared the waste, which left the nearby residents very relieved.

Helping farmers deal with dumped tyres

Dealing with illegally-dumped tyres in ditches can be a problem for many farmers.

However, if you are a trade customer and have a valid Waste Carrier's Licence, you are able to bring tyres direct to EWD by prior appointment. We have in and out weighbridges on site, and can guarantee a fast turnaround.

Alternatively, we can offer a reliable and frequent collection service throughout East Anglia, with experienced staff and modern fleet. We have sites at Brightlingsea and Clacton.

WEEE collection and recycling enhanced

Earlier this year EWD enhanced its WEEE collection service to specialise in large household appliances such as washing machines, fridge freezers, cookers and the like.

EWD provides a bespoke collection service to suit customers' needs. Lifting and moving appliances will be carried out by our trained lorry operatives, and once loaded you'll be provided with all the relevant paperwork and consignment notes required for your duty of care trail.

All the appliances are then taken back to our purpose-built workshops, which are fully licensed with the Environment Agency. Our qualified engineers will bring appliances back to life where possible and ensure they are fully tested to WRAPP standards.

Re-use is the best way to recycle

Skip trucks keep on tipping!

EWD's new fleet of skip lorries has hit the road and will be dealing with your waste at our site in Brightlingsea.

We supply skips ranging from 2 to 12 cubic yards, including skips with doors for easy loading and skips with lids to keep you waste undercover and secure.  We can collect all types of waste and we recycle up to 90% of everything that we bring back to the depot.

Recycling in bulk to cut costs

Our fleet of trucks is here to move your waste in bulk loads, cutting transport cost and movements, and helping you to save money while recycling it the correct manner.
Here at EWD we are committed to diverting all waste from landfill so we really are recycling today's waste for tomorrow's world.

Help us to help our future.

EWD Recycling Educates the Children

Today EWD visited Frobisher Primary and Nursery School at Jaywick near Clacton.

We were invited to showcase our new skip lorry and talk to the children about what our company does. The arrival of the skip lorry succeeded the arrival of a police car, an ambulance, and a fire engine, all of which were taken to the school to educate the children.

The children were advised of the purpose and capabilities of the vehicle and were allowed to ask questions to the owner and driver.

The meetings tied in with our ‘Be Safe, Be Seen’ campaign that was directed towards children's safety.

EWD supplied children with reflective stickers and reflectors to increase their visibility at night and in poor weather.
